Geoffrey McGowen has a community-minded approach to his field, having served in a variety of roles from hospital RN to helicopter flight nurse for Air Evac Lifeteam, to volunteering as a Mass Vaccinator following the 2015 floods in South Carolina. He places a strong emphasis on preventative care, and this informs his approach to wellness with a love of the outdoors and fascination with the natural world. His many years living and working throughout the Southeastern United States led Geoffrey to spend his spare time getting to the know the landscape better through kayaking, biking, hiking, and camping.
Geoffrey is fascinated by how small details can add up to large scale effect, whether in nursing, cosmology, or astrophysics. Whether it’s the small details of his patients histories and present conditions adding up to a larger plan of care, the tiniest components of the universe contributing to its overall structure, or how quality medical care can contribute to stronger communities, Geoffrey is interested in understanding how the minute and individual can affect the universal.
